The 26th edition of the “Il Novello dell’Emilia-Romagna” Regional Competition awarded Frantoio Valsanterno extra virgin olive oil, once again confirming the olive-growing vocation of our hills and the great potential of olive growing in our area.
The prestigious award created by the Municipality of Montegridolfo to relaunch the culture and knowledge of extra virgin olive oil avails itself of the support of O.L.E.A. (Organization of the Laboratory of Expert Tasters) and of the collaboration of A.R.P.O. Emilia Romagna. Almost 70 samples arrived from the entire region, among these two were the representative oils of our land that received recognition.
Monte di Nola, a blend of Nostrana, Ghiacciola, Leccino and Frantoio, produced by Frantoio Valsanterno in its first harvest campaign, won second place in the Medium Intense Fruity category. An oil of great personality produced with olives harvested in the beginning of ripeness from the 6 hectares of olive groves owned by the Frantoio.
