IMOLA BECOMES OIL CITY- CEREMONY FOR THE DELIVERY OF THE FLAG

Today, 22 February, at the Town Council Hall of Imola was held the Ceremony of the flag of Città dell’Olio in the presence of Mayor Marco Panieri, the Councillor for Public Works, Historic Center and Productive Activities Pierangelo Raffini, the President of the National Association of Oil Cities Michele Sonnessa, the Director of the Association Antonio Balenzano and the Authorities of the territory.

Joining the Città dell’Olio circuit gives new life to the project to promote the Extra Virgin Olive of Imola, relaunching the Frantoio of the territory and enhancing olive growing, as a historical, cultural and naturalistic heritage.

The entry of Imola in the Oil Cities confirms the growing attention to an extraordinary excellence of our territory. This recognition highlights the key role that our hills have in the national landscape of olive growing and is for us a pillar on which to base future activities. – declares Marika Zaganti – Director of Frantoio Valsanterno -. I thank the National Association Città dell’Olio and in particular the Municipality of Imola for promoting this project. I also thank all the shops that have joined the tasting cycle “Frantoio in Città” believing in the initiative and collaborating with us with great enthusiasm and participation.

The Vice President Vanni Angeli also expressed his satisfaction saying: “Aggregation is fundamental to growth. There is huge potential in our hills and it will be the collaboration that will make the difference in promoting the excellence of the EVO oil of the territory.

The ceremony ended with a tasting held at the local Bacchilega, where all participants were able to taste our three types of EVO oils.
